Here at Upon You, it’s not like we ever have to come up with an excuse to party. But for our latest label night at the monolothic Panorama Bar, we have an especially good reason: our fifth anniversary is approaching fast! And the DJs we have lined up, both established and newer, are a reflection of the diverse talent we’ve worked with over the years.
Headlining the night are longtime affiliates The Cheapers, also known as Ruede Hagelstein & Fraenzen Texas who have released a stack of EPs with us over the years. Mr. Hagelstein has also made the rounds as a solo act and late last year took a complete 180 with his debut full-length on Tiefschwarz’s Souvenir label, experimenting with downtempo and jazzy sounds. His upcoming Shades EP for Upon You will return to the techno/house sounds he’s known for, the kind you can expect to hear in his set together with Mr. Texas. Re-UP is another key duo from our team, joining us from Venice on this special night, following last year’s Upon You EP with new material coming up on Supplement Facts, Dissonant and Little Helpers. Also present will be N!co Stojan, who, after some collaborations over the last couple years, issued his first solo 12” with us in December, the sleek and elegant Callerja EP. Finally, Copenhagen’s Mathias Mesteno rounds out the lineup, likely to drop the fresh tracks he’s prepared Tartelet and Upon You as well as his remix appearing on the last ever LoMidHigh release. We, meanwhile, have no plans to stop, so come help us fill the floor with beats, sweat and optimistic vibes!
Marcus Meinhardt´s new record is there and with it a hole rig of remixes. “Checkpot”has become a typical Meinhardt that twirls with a cool funkyness and mysterious melodies through the dancers brain. The producer and DJ Okain which is known especially through his releases on Tsuba Rec. is taking the theme by the fuze and is relighting the dancefloor with his bass accelerator. Our Upon You approved colleague Pele also likes to play with fire and got together with the artist Findling for his remix. They turn the wind towards the morning and let the flames turn into a trip-dub direction. Similar does the Upon You artist Echonomist who stears the digital bonus track with a heating value of glowing soundscapes as usual.
A longtime fixture of Berlin's club scene, Upon. You´s Marco Resmann has had his hand in a number of different projects over the years: formerly Anja Schneider's producer and the third member of Pan-Pot, half of the duo Luna City Express, head of Upon. You and solo producer under his own name or as Phage. He's also a resident DJ at Watergate, which makes him a natural choice for the riverside club's tenth mix CD. Resmann is heavy on '00s minimal and tech house, with cuts from Ricardo Villalobos, Soulphiction and Heartz 4 (AKA Daze Maxim), and stays quite busy in the mix, working with up to three tracks at a time. Some exclusives are included as well, including Marco's recent collaborations with Mike Shannon and Kiki.

Nico Stojans last release on Upon You was a collaboration with The Cheapers. Before that, he had his debut on UY together with Pele. Now, the former hip- hop producer, took the streets of Spain all by himself and brought back an endotherm tech-house breeze to blow-dry our backstock catalogue and in wich we can preserve our summer memories in- for the cold days ahead. Not only wants the namegiving A1 of the UY054 to dancingly dig itself into the sand-beach… eaven the B1 Ttitle Quiet Now is wearing bikini-fashion. For those who like to withdrawel in the winter into steaming halls will be gratified by the remix from Hector. The born Mexican which found his way through London into Berlin is turning the focal point from Quit Now into the direction main stage and lets the base drop. For the digital delights in life: Nicos track Dusty Fingers is ready to be downloaded- also a consequent techno-remix from Meyerdierks.

We welcome Marcus Gehring as latest artist to join the Upon. You Label Gang! Marcus is one of Amsterdam´s most talented newcomers and well known for his recent projects together with ONNO. His current remix of Gunnar Stiller´s “Way To Wollongong” is still on fire and got big attention from many big names in the business. We are happy to have him on board and looking forward to his upcoming work in further future.

Here comes the already promised vinyl-extraction of the already released Upon You Diary No.2 Compilation, on which you can find the UY- clan members and artists around the label. The four most popular titles of the cd were pored on vinyl. On A1 a collaboration of Douglas Green and Delhia de France, who lost gallons of love about their song “Sense”. Mark Henning has also formed a passioned tech-house-mover with his track “Stacked”, which complies his cool style. The B- side has an opener from our number one Dutchman Onno, who got together with our youngest member Marcus Gehring to produce the title “Elephant In The Room”. Of course Marcus Meinhardt, who was responsible for the survey of the tracks cant be left a side. His contribution to this product carries the name “Splash” and is an example for Marcus Meinhardts driving tech-house-sound.
After Gunnar Stiller's latest release, the Upon. You 050, had been served together with Marcus Meinhardt, wich grew on quite a few dancefloors to a club hit, everyone is of course curious to know what he will put on the dancing feet next. The A1 title 'Way To Wollongong' has been inspired by his Australia-Tour last year and is tying smoothly on to the agility of his former releases. 'Antipodians' on side B1 is therefore taking more time for the housework and is sprouting his introspectively chords through the bush of the outback. The remixes are coming from our Upon. You shooting star Marcus Gehring who adopted to Wollongong and Timid Boy who is doing the digital exclusive remix.
Our Upon You Sweet & Sour series likes to introduce to you fresh artists. This time the spaniards Melohman and Javi Bora brought us three dance floor rockets who can`t wait to be launched into the club-cosmos. The two crew-members have already started from 20:20 Vision and bring with “Calle Cala” proof of many completed flying lessons. An Edit on A1 and the original title on B1. On top of that the track “Trotamundos” is ready to be downloaded. B2 is reservated for a “Calle Cala” remix from producer Tuccillo, who`s living in Ibiza at the time. He is known through various releases on well respected labels like: Isgud, Circus Company and Delusions Of Grandeur.
Even after the success of Diary N°1, Upon. You’s first CD label compilation, it was clear that the Berlin crew wasn’t through with their adventures and had every intention to keep documenting them (and doodling in the margins, too). With nearly 70 releases in their catalog and with recurring label nights held in their hometown’s top clubs Berghain/Panorama Bar and Watergate, Upon. You felt it was time to make another full-length statement in the form of Diary N°2, compiling 12 new, exclusive tracks, showing the label’s wide sonic spectrum within the realm of techno and house music.
