Our label nights at Panorama Bar are always memorable experiences – provided that we don’t forget absolutely everything that happened – but this edition is especially noteworthy in that it celebrates the release of our second label CD compilation, Upon You Diary № 2, curted by Marcus Meinhardt.
To mark the occasion, we’ve invited a special guest DJ, Marco Carola, who will spread his set over a full five hours. Most techno fans don’t need any introduction to Mr. Carola, but for the unrefined, let’s see, how to make a 15+ year story short? Well, he’s one of Italy’s top techno DJ/producers, constantly playing at the world’s best clubs, having crafted mix CDs for Fabric and Cocoon, and most recently, a studio album for M-nus released earlier this year. We’re longtime fans and became more closely acquainted when he was a big supporter of Gunnar Stiller’s Cubicle EP which we released a couple years back. Needless to say, we’re thrilled to have him join our team!
Speaking of Stiller, he will also be present and in particularly good spirits, having just released a brand new Upon You 12” EP titled South of the Border. He’ll be playing a back-to-back set with our team member Fabiano. And of course, being responsible for our collective musical statement Diary № 2, Marcus Meinhardt will also be there, showing us his impeccable selection and mixing skills behind the decks. Rounding out the lineup is the ever dependable label head and DJ/producer Marco Resmann. See you on the dancefloor!

After only just recently raising our glasses to our 50th Upon You release, here’s number 51 just waiting in the bleachers…so basically we’re on our way to number 100. Our Italian friends Re-Up have rustled up this very promising release called „The New Mood EP“. Why the name ? I hear you ask. Well these two Tech-House experts have dug deep to give us A1 with it’s ecstatic drum rolls in „Darkness“ , A2 gives us the title track with its dubby-chordy kind of sound, like magically pulling the reins on an Indian horse. „What Else“ they ask themselves on B1 while they gallop over the UY parcour to end this little journey with „So Good“ on B2.
The new Upon You Podcast #8 comes from the talented isreali duo Deep´a & Biri featured by Gene. It´s a lovely mix full of unreleased tracks of them and gives a great reflection of their work in the moment.

Upon You Records has finally reached the big „five-o“ that’s right 50 ! regular releases old, and to celebrate we’re inviting you into our musical swinger club. While our Upon You artists usually work their way up to a musical orgasm on their own, this time they have doubled up for a nice old gangbang of massive proportions. Gunnar Stiller and Marcus Meinhardt are tag teaming on A1 with their little winner „Feinherb“ and are leaving out the foreplay and get straight down to it. Then we have Nico Stojan and The Cheapers who are finger banging the buttons and levers for „Railroad“ on A2. Flipping the side over we find our Dutch-Danish buddys Onno and Mathias Mesteno and let the puppets dance to some sweet house beats with the track „Puppets“..finishing of this vinyl masterpiece are Marco Resmann and Ruede Hagelstein with „Monday“, once again proving how tender they can be if necessary, blowing out the last candles with a touch of Saxophone.

Onno is a highly dosed dancing pill, Pop one and your rubber legs turn into those of Fred Astaire. His last release already proved that he knows how to make you „put yo hands up in da air“! Now, here’s his latest little treat „Hablando Loco EP“ Upon You Number 048. The title track opens with some sweet vocals and then drills into your A1 memory banks with the Spanish Monolog from El Commandante. On B2 he’s quite content with the few words : „I like that beat“. But Onno likes the repetetive use of vocals like a fitness trainer trying to squeeze that last drop of sweat out of you. Gavin Herlihy, who some of you know from Cocoon, takes a subtler approach to the track with his remix that writhes in the scented oils that is House-deepness. Then, for those hard buggers out there that need another round on the treadmill there’s a nice Digital-Exclusive-Track “And Yet Again” that will help you burn some of that fat and give you a tasty little muscle ache to remember it by.
Upon You gets a double feature in the Groove Magazine #131. Ruede Hagelstein hits the Top 50 with his track ‘Give A Little Slap To Your Soul’ on position 24. But that’s not all: Mathias Kaden chose Ruede’s ‘In A Stream’ for the current Groove DJ Mix.
