Marcus, how did you get in touch with Upon You Records?
It all started a while ago, my booker had contact with Upon You and did some labelnights with them at Amsterdam Dance Event and at Studio 80. Then my good friend and studio neighbour Onno started to release on UY and for Diary no1 we produced a track together. After that one thing led to another and i did my first EP on Upon You Sweet & Sour series.
You are based in Amsterdam, what about the scene there at the moment?
There's always a lot going on in Amsterdam. There are many dj's, producers and promotors in a city with only 750.000 inhabitants. So because of the high density there's a lot of competition which for the quality is a good thing. More and more Amsterdam based dj's & producers are doin a very good job on international level. Clubs such as Trouw and Studio80 are for foreign dj's always a pleasure to play. So Amsterdam is doin fine i guess.. The only thing that needs some fixing is the closing time for clubs. And as a Berliner you will definitely agree ..
We know you from different projects together with ONNO, what can we expect from you in the near future?
At the moment the only thing scheduled for us together is for the Upon You 5th year anniversary .. Yeah, time flies !! If more comes up, you'll be the first one to know ;-)
Tell us a little bit about your podcast, how did it come together?
I wanted to make a timeless podcast to nicely listen to at any time. In my opinion it suits morning, daytime, evening, night and daytime again ;-) I hope you feel the same way too ...
