We would like to welcome Deep`a and Biri to Upon You Records. These two up and coming young producers from Israel have sent us three Jackin`House tracks, which we know you will enjoy. We’d had an eye on them for a while after hearing their Tracks that they released for Kammer, Trapez and Rotary Cocktail, all the better that they now have another platform for their darker house style. On A1 we have “Barzilay Groove” a track that is dedicated to the club in Tel Aviv where Deep `a is a resident and salutes the vibrant energy of the city. B1 is wilder and more psychedelic; Deep’a & Biri made a gem called “Emergence” that subtly pushes itself forward then rolls over everything in its path. ”Hova” on B2 keeps the mystical suspense level up where it should be, and adds a bouncier Tom-groove to round things off perfectly.

Marco Resmann sent out a few remix invitations to selected producer-friends throughout the world last year. The idea was to remix one of his favorite tracks on Upon You. The results are now in and will now be used to usher in the new musical year 2010. The industrious Belgian Ramon Tapia has managed to make it on to A1 with his remix of “Sao Paulo Nights” with his knee deep bass harmonies mixed in with beautiful finger lickin’ house chords. His second version will be an exclusive digital track with a touch more percussion appeal. A2 is a remix of “Paradise Lost” from The Echonomist, our Greek musical magician has turned this track into a subtle pusher that just won’t let you go. We are very pleased to have him as part of our Upon You Label inventory! Our colleague Acumen who first appeared on our radar screens when we discovered his releases on his own label “Time has Changed “ has taken Marco’s latest release, “I Will Love” and is happily using a house kick to bounce the B1 ball over the dance floor without forgetting to score the crucial final basket. Our Frenchman Varoslav has taken the same track to the 3 point line but has used a different throwing technique, maybe something that he learned from his label boss Guy Gerber from “Supplements Facts” Records. Holger Zilske aka Smash TV and Emerson Todd have also elegantly mastered “I Will Love” giving it a special touch for the Upon You download area.

Actually, this Frenchman’s plan was to become more “sensible", well he is in his 30’s, has a family and a regular job….He used to be a punk who one day or night, discovered the 4/4 nightlife, which never really let him go again. He has always produced music as a passion and not with the goal of actually living from it. That, of course, is a good thing for a musician, it means that there’s no pressure, he can take his time without compromising his work. So, as his music began to develop and become better and better on the side, in 2007 he began to take his music more seriously. He runs the labels “Time has changed” and “Time is now” and as Acumen nonchalantly leans toward the career ladder instead of scratching at the bottom step, electronic gurus like Richie Hawtin have described him as the “Newcomer of the year". We are especially pleased about his release on Upon You. The two beautiful tracks “Firmament” and “Middle” will be complimented by an exclusive Digital version called “Modus", how does that sound?

We proudly present the 3rd Home Sweet Home Compilation! As every year, you will find the finest artists from within and around the Upon You label presenting their selected gems on this anthology. These are all artists that have played live or spun the decks at the annual and legendary Home Sweet Home New Years’ Day party at the Arena, Berlin. As always, this is a two part compilation and marks another highlight in our labels history.
Our first release of „black gold „in 2010 is a compilation shared by The Cheapers, Mathias Mesteno, Channel X and ONNO. The Cheapers have given us a track that is slightly more “Technoide” than what we have become used to, with an absolute “bass beast” called “Madame Sans Merci” on A1. Mr. Mesteno has given us the second part of “Tante Dunkel” (once again paying homage to one of Copenhagen’s most illustrious night creatures) with this house track. The first part was released on our last Home Sweet Home compilation. After flipping the vinyl, B1 unveils Channel X’s last offering before releasing their debut album on “Stil Vor Talent” in the beginning of 2010, making us all the more pleased about this dependable club track. B2 is reserved for our Dutch colleague ONNO’s kicking Tech House track that shows that Upon You know how to start out the new year in the right way.

Miko from Channel X and Empro proudly present their co produced little techno gem on A1. Our talented new addition to the UY label, Echonomist, from sunny Greece has secured himself the B2 side. We are especially pleased about the charming House track that our Polish friends Catz n Dogz have left on our doorstep on B1 and the masterful A2 dance floor filler produced by the “Berliner” workmanship of the duo Zadak and Kotelett.

We all know Gunnar from countless kick ass parties in Berlin. He has always been a reliable force as a DJ, especially when playing together with Fabiano. He not only demonstrates his talents as a clever wordsmith but also his great musical taste with “Cubicle” and “Open You", proving that everything that has been said about him is true.

The travel reports of the Wilderness EP Part 1 & 2 follows a documentation of a time when The Cheapers were together in a dark vault and they were only attending the on going outer world through a “white hole”.
In Chapter A1 they report about the mondane mess that interfuses through the small opening into their facultative dungeon. They aim towards their profile and fill their surface with melody and intoxication.B1describes basseruptions in front of the “White House” and while buzzing, pouring oil onto the strings of their piano, to proove the efficiency of renewable soundenergies.Their mission was succesfully kept a secret until rising winds released the manuskript blowing them out of the darkness to the CD of the current Groove-Magazine. Finally all parts are official and available on Upon You Records.

The sixth part of our Upon You series takes Marcus down the highway to hell. “Mad Max” will be taking up the fight on the worlds dance floor’s, battling and swashbuckling against the marauders of the record industry. The original B1 engine of his Nightrider has been highly tuned by Super Flu this time around and the swift frame will be catapulted down the A1 with the “Home Sweat Home Mix”. Whilst Marcus, our after hour Glory Rider continues to dominate the groove. With his indicator cranked left, he nearly overtakes himself on the B2. The road to “H-End” will definitely stay exciting! Our opinion: Blockbuster.

Our man from Italy hits base again! He was the first house-agent that we’ve send out on a pure digital Upon You mission. He mastered it with such bravory that our Headquater see it worthwhile to hit session two on vinyl. In phase A1 he successfully recovered a hole row of bad house replicates under the code name “Shadittz” to bring back the good taste. “Back from the middle” is the motto in Phase A2, essentially contributing the bust of a few lousy tech-house bosses that where about to sell scuzzy loops to minors. His work was very useful for us and an easy seizing for mr. superbrain Tolga Fidan who could complete the mission as our remix profiler.
